Buxton Puppet Festival 2012

For the 2012 Buxton Puppet Festival ‘The Big Grin’ came to town – the 350th birthday celebrations of Mr Punch in the UK. Funny Wonders hosted events and activities which formed part of a national programme throughout the season. To see the goings on, click here.

The festival was opened once more with a parade of gigante puppets made for the Olympic Torch Relay parade along with some drummers. To see our other activities, click here.

The festival also featured performances by Diddley Dee Puppets, Rough Magic Theatre, Nutmeg Puppet Company, Rouge 28 Theatre, Folded Feather, Presto Puppets, International Purves Puppets, Noisy Oyster, Pauline Venables and Idolrich Theatre. The festival also featured street theatre performances were given by Fi Angwin and Peter Piper Puppets and workshops by Keith Barnes, Pauline Venables, Funny Wonders and Idolrich Theatre.
