Our Buxton Puppet Festival 2012 Activities

During the Buxton Puppet Festival 2012, we welcomed ‘The Big Grin’ celebrations marking 350 years of Mr Punch in the UK.

In addition, we also opened the festival with a parade of the Olympic Torch gigante puppets, accompanied by djembe drummers, and we ran a workshop where participants created a shadow puppet scene accompanied with live music.

They were then invited to perform in our evening scratch night ‘Funny Wonders & Friends’. This also included a performance of an updated version of our Urashima-Tarō show with an introduction to Transition Buxton and short shadow puppet shows created by the Funny Wonders Puppet Club.
