Our most popular flowerpot trail yet!
The Buxton Flowerpot Trail is over for 2023. See some pictures of the wonderful creations this year below or more of them on the project page here.
A massive thank you to all those who took part – it’s been the most popular trail yet!
We sold more printed maps and had more electronic map views than ever before.
And, whilst there were fewer dots on the map than in 2022, the quality of the creations this year, and the effort put in by their makers, was outstanding and continues to blow us away.
The International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival best G&S-themed flowerpot competition results were live-streamed at their awards ceremony on 11 August. The top three are featured below – the Three Little Maids from the Mikado seen on Water Street and made by the Buxton Opera House, the Grand Duke at The Pump Room, made by Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust, and the Gondolier on Spring Gardens, made by WH Smith.
Thanks again to our local Derbyshire County Council and High Peak Borough Council councillors who supported the trail this year: Cllr Linda Grooby (DCC), Cllr Rachael Quinn (HPBC) and Cllr Jean Todd (HPBC). And to our map vendors: Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust, The Green Man Gallery, Poole’s Cavern Visitor Centre and Scrivener’s bookshop.
And to the International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival for their support of the trail – great to hear you had such a successful festival.
