Changing Faces 2023/2024
Our Changing Faces project has been running since 2017. It is a creative, after-school club for young people aged 11-18yrs in Buxton who face daily difficulties and disadvantage. We provide a range of creative activities, giving participants choice of what they want to do. Savoury snacks and fruit cordial are offered.
Workshops started on Tuesday 26 September 2023, taking place at The Green Man Gallery and finished on 16 July 2024. They were supported, this year, by a grant from The Bingham Trust.
Activities
This year, activities included: drawing mandala illustrations, making pasta crazy golf courses, marble runs or abstract sculpture, had mosaics workshops with a local artist, learnt calligraphy, created embroidery of our favourite quotes, spray-painted graphic images with masking tape reveals, made flowerpot-people for the Buxton Flowerpot Trail, made grotesque masks with another local artist, and tried different types of doodles.
