Changing Faces 2021/2022

Our Changing Faces project has been running since 2017. It is a creative, after-school club for young people aged 11-18yrs in Buxton who face daily difficulties and disadvantage. We provide a range of creative activities, giving participants choice of what they want to do. Savoury snacks and fruit cordial are offered.

Workshops started on Tuesday 5 October 2021 and were supported by a Derbyshire County Council Action Grant, deferred from 2020.

Below are some pictures from the workshops. Please get in touch if you would like to get involved either as a participant or team member.

Between October to December 2021, the group worked on creating a shadow puppetry video illustrating a poem about all their favourite things about Christmas. With support from our team, they wrote and recorded the poem, created and performed the shadow puppetry and projection and played the music. Our team then edited together the video for them to watch at the Christmas party.

In the winter and spring terms, we learnt about raising guide dog puppies, tried making pasta crazy golf courses, made marionette puppets using sculpture, papier-macheing, painting and costume design.
