Buxton Puppet Festival 2006

The fourth Buxton Puppet Festival took place over the 23 – 29 July 2006 and was the final festival co-presented by the British Puppet Model Theatre Guild and the Buxton Opera House.

It featured performances by Clive Chandler & His Puppets, Sketty Productions, On The Other Hand, Theatre of the Small, Aidan Shingler & The Antidotes, Nori Sawa, Lempen Puppet Theatre, Jose Navarro, Arcadia Open Zirkus, Waggish Raddish Puppet Theatre,  Mishimou, Pickled Image and Mikropodium.

Professional bunraku and marionnette workshops were run by Nori Sawa and Beresford Puppets, respectively and childrens workshops were run by Pauline Venables, Keith Barnes, Funny Wonders, Nori Sawa, Kath Connolly and Melvyn Rawlinson. Street theatre performances were given by Marten Lierman, Wychwood Marionettes, Clive Chandler, The Wright Stuff, Mister Peter’s Puppets, Professor James Arnott and Beresford Puppets.

​It also featured a scratch night hosted by Funny Wonders, a Festival of Toy Theatre and a puppet exhibition.
