Changing Faces 2025/2026

Our Changing Faces project has been running since 2017. It is a creative, after-school club for young people aged 11-18yrs in Buxton who face daily difficulties and disadvantage. We provide a range of creative activities, giving participants choice of what they want to do. Savoury snacks and fruit cordial are offered.

For the 2025/2026 academic year, the project during the autumn and winter terms is supported by grants from The Bingham Trust and a High Peak CVS Health & Wellbeing Partnership Grant.

During the spring term, including our carnival activities, the project is supported by grants from the Asda Foundation, Mansfield Building Society, Tesco Stronger Starts and High Peak Borough Council Councillor Initiative Fund.

Workshops run on term-time Tuesdays after-school at St Anne’s Community Centre until 5pm, starting on 16 September 2025. They will run until mid-July 2026.

Autumn-Term Workshops

During the autumn term, we have drawn visual illusions, ‘completed the picture’, tried flower arranging, made Halloween shadow windows, tried button art, made fancy snowflakes, made Christmas cards, practised speaking skills and written and gave speeches on things we’re passionate about.

Winter-Term Workshops

During the winter term, we have tried paper bunraku puppetry, learnt how to use a sewing machine and embroidered our favourite quotes, painted music, explored instruments from around the world and made miniature sculptures, creating secret, hidden worlds.
