July News: puppets, trams and art galleries

We had a lower key Buxton Carnival this year. Mr Ben Brassington from our 2008 Production “The Silk Road” joined Nick Christie (pictured) in driving the Discover Buxton tram round the parade….the similarity was purely coincidental!!

Mr Ben Brassington, having enjoyed his time out of bed, is now residing in The Green Man Gallery in the newly refurbished first floor galleries. It’s like he’s been there since the building was first built and was a Victorian ballroom and music hall! The Gallery is currently hosting the Buxton Spa Prize, I recommend a visit if you haven’t been already.

In other news, two new dates have been added to our Saturday morning Puppet Club at The Green Man Gallery – 5th and 19th September – and we’ve made a start on the puppets for the Buxton Drama League winter production.

We also have a shadow puppet-making workshop booked in at the Buxton Museum & Art Gallery on Wednesday 26th August from 10am-12pm. It’s a free event to take part so make sure you come down and see us!

If you’d like to get involved please get in touch. We are always recruiting!
