For Christmas 2014, we installed light installations of ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ into our local cave, Poole’s Cavern, to accompany Santa’s Grotto throughout December.
We installed light boxes throughout the cave and ended with a stained-glass window effect screen which contained all the players. We ran workshops in the Cavern’s work room where the public could help us with the screen artwork.
We had hoped to project images onto the cave walls using over-head projectors but, due to the damp conditions in the cave, we were unable to do this.
Kit and materials for the project were very kindly funded by the Buxton Civic Association who run the cavern.
