Our Changing Faces project has been running since 2017. It is a creative, after-school club for young people aged 11-18yrs in Buxton who face daily difficulties and disadvantage. We provide a range of creative activities, giving participants choice of what they want to do. Savoury snacks and fruit cordial are offered.
Workshops started in September 2019 but were suspended in early March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Workshops were supported by The Bingham Trust and a Derbyshire County Council Derbyshire Grant.
During the autumn term, we tried making pasta crazy golf courses, made mandalas, had mosaics workshops with a local artist, learnt calligraphy and tried using pastels.
In the spring term, we started building things with cardboard but the pandemic stopped play.
